I am excited about my first year teaching middle school science at Grayville Jr.-Sr. High School. For the past few years I have substitute teaching at Grayville, as well as several other area schools, but I enjoy this school because of the closeness of the students and the friendliness of the staff and students. I am hoping this will be a great year for all of us.

I live in Edwards County, where I worked as a paraprofessional for several years before returning to college to finish my teaching degree that was put on hold while I had a family. When my oldest daughter, Jillian, was entering the army and going off to war, and my youngest daughter, Alyssa, was finishing high school, my husband and I decided it was time for us to get back into college. Alyssa and Jillian are both in college now. Jillian is out of the army and is going to school for forensic science, and Alyssa is getting her masters degree in social work. My son, Kaelen, is living at home again and helps us corral our four dogs.

I am looking forward to teaching science this year. It will be a new experience for me. I love junior high students, but I have never taught just science before. I hope this year will be quite an adventure for all of us.
